Job

Real strength comes from the fear and love of the Lord

When the Spirit comes to us it is good to listen on how God is Speaking to "me".

Hope in our own goodness is selling ourselves short of what God has intended for our lives now.

Amazing Pain...The Flesh and The Face

Amazing Pain

Amazing Pain is a vision of walking into my painful suffering with my eyes focused attentively on my glorious Savior, God. Jesus is in the center of the drawing because Jesus is in the center of my Journey, not because I work at keeping him there, but because he is. Jesus chose to travel directly into the pain and suffering, enduring intense physical and emotional abuse, human hatred and injustice. Luke 23:45-46 says: For the sun stopped shinning. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my Spirit.”
In Isaiah’s vision the whole earth is filled with his glory and the seraphs with their head and feet covered with wings shouted, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord almighty!” The temple shook and was filled with smoke. Isaiah saw his sinfulness and said, “Woe to me! I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips and I live among people of unclean lips!” The seraph came down and took tongs in his hand. He picked a live coal from the altar and touched Isaiah’s lips.
As I read about the live coals I imagined the pain of the hot coal on my lips. I imagined the pain of the cross. I remembered comfortable choices that I have made. I stood in awe; tears in my eyes imagining Jesus making the choice to endure the very pain that I chose to walk away from.
The child hugging a pillow is my flesh “our flesh”. I thought of the choices I have mad to ensure my protection, keep my schedule straight, and live like the world was my home. I remembered during the life of Jesus, he had no place to lay his head.
The face is an oak of righteousness sharply attentive to Jesus. In Isaiah 61:3b “To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes; the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness. “ The face is without fear of making choices that are uncomfortable. Psalm 91:4 “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” The bright face is reflecting the glory of God and longing for the time forever with Jesus.
Walking directly into our painful suffering with our eyes focused on our powerful God is an amazingly, painful, worthwhile adventure.
In the sixth chapter of Isaiah, Isaiah said to The Lord, “Here am I, Send Me!”
Send me forward into your Amazing Pain and grant me the honor of feeling the sacrifice of the Cross!
